Routine exams and cleanings

routine-dental-care.jpg

Many expensive procedures are avoidable if routine care is performed every 6 months. Necessary x-rays, oral cancer screenings and full gum health evaluations are performed routinely by the doctor and hygienist.

During these exams, nutritional counseling is offered to reduce the amount of damaging substances teeth are exposed to.

Preventive cleanings help gums stay healthy and fight gingivitis. Fluoride treatments are offered to help remineralize tooth structure and aid in cavity prevention.

Night Guards/ TMJ Appliances

If you are experiencing chronic headaches and migraines by involuntary night-time teeth clenching, let Tender Care Family Dentistry help you with a night guard. A night guard is a thin transparent mouth piece that is worn over the biting surface of your teeth while you sleep to prevent contact between the upper and lower teeth, as well as providing relief to the surrounding muscles.

Fillings

tooth_fillings.jpg

Fillings are necessary when decay has destroyed tooth structure, creating the dreaded dental “cavity.” You can also need fillings due to older fillings breaking down and losing their seal. We use composite "white fillings" for material of choice. Leaving decay untouched is never recommended as it will worsen, leading to either root canal therapy or extraction. New techniques in pain management and cavity preparation make this a quick and relatively simple dental process.

Crowns

A crown is the treatment choice if the tooth is heavily decayed, damaged, or broken. We offer different materials for crowns, from metal free crowns with all porcelain, to gold crowns.  Discuss with your doctor on what material is the best for your tooth health. This procedure normally takes two visits. You go home with a temporary first visit, while our local labs make your custom crown.

Bridges

A bridge is one of several permanent options of tooth replacement, designed to span or “bridge” the gap where teeth are missing. Like crowns, they can be made from a variety of dental materials, but the most popular bridges are made from lifelike porcelain fixed to a metal support structure. Typically, a bridge is composed of two crowns attached to healthy teeth (abutments) on either side with artificial teeth (pontics) filling the gap between them. A dental bridge will hold your other teeth in place and make everyday activities such as eating and talking easier.

Root Canal Therapy

Root canals are common procedures when the tooth's nerves has been injured or diseased, usually from a deep cavity or cracked tooth. Both of these problems can lead bacteria into the nerve area, causing an infection in the tooth. Root canals can help resolve the infection, bring the tooth back to health, and save your tooth from extraction. This treatment may involve one or more dental visits.

Extractions

Natural teeth are ideal for biting, chewing and maintaining mouth and jawbone structure, which is why a dentist’s first priority is to help restore, save and repair your natural teeth. However, sometimes a tooth extraction is unavoidable.

The dentist at Tender Care Family Dentistry will make sure you are comfortable before, during, and after your extraction procedure. This includes walking you through every step of the tooth extraction, as well as making the experience as painless as possible.

Implants

Dental implants, another permanent option for replacement, can help you smile more confidently. A dental implant is permanent and is an effective, attractive, secure way to fill gaps in your smile. Our doctors will examine if you are a candidate for implants, and provide clinical information. We will guide you through the procedure of an implant, and you will understand how it has to be placed first, heal and then a replacement option, either crown, bridge, partial or denture that connects to the implants once the area is healed.

Dentures and Partials

If you have lost teeth from decay, injury or gum disease, partials or complete dentures are one choice to replace your teeth. Whether you need partial or full denture, they are essential- not only to improve the look of your smile, but also your oral health. In addition to allowing you to eat as if you had never lost your teeth, dentures also protect against facial sagging that would otherwise occur & cause a more aged appearance.

Another option available is have a denture or partial that connect to dental implants. Please call us today to discuss if dentures or implants are the right option for you!

Periodontal Therapy

Periodontal disease (also called gum disease) is more common than you may think. This disease is not just gum inflammation, it is a disease process affecting the gums and the bone of teeth. Leaving this disease untreated, can lead to serious infection and tooth loss. These bacteria, along with mucus and other particles, constantly form a sticky, colorless "plaque" on teeth. Brushing and flossing help get rid of plaque. Plaque that is not removed can harden and form bacteria-harboring "tartar" that brushing doesn't clean. Only a professional cleaning by a dentist or dental hygienist can remove tartar.

Veneers

Dental veneers are a possible solution to help you achieve the look you desire. They are a popular choice for those with chipped teeth, a gap between teeth, or misshaped teeth. Dental veneers are thin covers that adhere to teeth to give teeth a more classically shaped look. Tender Care Family Dentistry offer a variety of dental veneer options to choose from. Talk to your dentist about what’s best for you.

Whitening

We understand that your teeth can become darkened and discolored due to factors such as aging, medications, illness, certain foods and drinks, tobacco use, and more. Now you can have significantly whiter teeth in a matter of a few days using advanced teeth whitening techniques. Both comfortable & affordable, our teeth whitening procedure involves you wearing a specially crafted tray at home in order to achieve a brighter, more radiant smile. You can rest assured that professional teeth whitening is both effective and safe, maintaining the health of your smile while providing long-lasting, aesthetic results.

Clear Braces

We are excited to offer clear aligners that, while producing the same results as braces, work entirely differently. Clear aligners work to shift the teeth using retainers that comfortably realign moderately to mildly misaligned teeth. These aligners are made uniquely to fit your individual teeth and are gradually replaced to get your teeth closer and closer to your ideal smile and perfect alignment. The aligners are replaced like this until your teeth are aligned perfectly.

BOTOX

BOTOX and dentistry go hand-in-hand for many reasons. One of the main reasons is that as dentists, our doctors are specialists of the face and mouth. We take a full facial esthetics approach to dentistry and not just “fixing teeth.” During a smile design, the eyes, lips, nose and the rest of the face are all visualized in order to get a “big picture” view of the smile.

At Tender Care Family Dentistry, we utilize BOTOX to help correct "gummy smiles", smooth fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth and face, as well as using it to treat TMD/TMJ associated issues.
